Toy Haulers just got new one
also has door going into the garage area to keep it separate from living area
We are heading to Berea ohio tomorrow staying the weekend wish these heavy winds would die down some but i will report back on how it tow's and MPG as this will be about 1hr 20min drive up 71 an interstate in windy conditions im estimating mpg to be around 9mpg.
I don't think they were making toy haulers when we started. This was our first 'doubles' rig. We kept changing stuff over the years, ended up with a 1 ton diesel, 35' fiver w/2 slide outs and 21' boat. We were 1' over the 75' overall length law but never got busted. Had a 6x10 enclosed for the bike. It was nice having a portable garage for the bike.
It's not a problem around here, but I hear there's parts of the country you can't pull doubles.
Going north on 71 we had some tail winds and managed to run about 60 to 65mph with average mpg of 11mpg trailer was loaded with all our supplies for the expo show we were doing which was not much weight at all really.
On the way home it seemed more uphill and going into the heavy winds gust up to 20mph we only averaged about 9.5 to 10.2mpg running at about same speeds.
We loved the toy hauler and had a great weekend staying in it at the fairgrounds in Berea ohio even during the snow and cold saturday night
I do have a question on the new F150's what is everyone seeing as far as Tranny Temp's when towing. my normal operating temp around town seems to be about 195 to 199, during towing i was running around 204 and when going up steep hill around 210.
I was using the tow haul mode along with the Manual shift option on long inclines to maintain speed and torque.

Good luck and safe travels with [IMHO] the best way to see the USA. We're on our second lap of the USA and our 51st state up north. No mexihole this time LOL
