Aged copper in a pattern that would be believable (gravity) and look more realistic.
Not sure if that's what I ended up with, but I think it's cool.
I made the mistake of spraying it a second time with the acid stuff. It was 15 minutes and nothing was really happening, I had heard that once it dried it wouldn't change anymore, so I gave it a second dose, and I think I washed some of the base paint and the patina off. So I can see some of the acid blocking primer near the front of the tank. Thankfully it's brown, so you can't tell unless you already knew that.
Today I pulled the painters tape off my tank, and I installed my left side mirror to match the right.
The streaking would be neat if it were horizontal from front to rear like it were wind driven.
That's reallly unique. Very interesting. And the rusty letters will look cool as well.
i polished all the chrome on my sporty which is basically the entire bike, I'm also looking on advise on how to seal it up so that it will quit rusting..... literally about once a month i spend a solid 3+ hrs polishing all the chrome because rust keeps showing up.

I thought of doing that. But I figured it would be more realistic to have it just go straight down, as you don't always ride in the rain. I set it up to what looked like the same angle it sits at on my bike. When I sprayed it, I did spray from the front to the back though, and just let it drip how it wanted
Nice job...looks comfy on your forwards. Love my mini floorboards on my mids.
Thanks. You were right a while back when you said the quality of the HD boards was far better than the Kurys. Looking forward to getting to ride with them!
