best bet...in saddlebag. I only take out when parked in a public area. Just don't hold it to your ear, could cause health issues.

If you're not too concerned about security, hide it somewhere on your bike, in your windshield bag, etc. If you're more concerned about security, keep it in your watch pocket, on your ankle (between sock and skin), on a neckchain (under your shirt), clip it to the "pull-up loop" on the back of your boots, etc. I make it a practice to never leave mine on the bike unless it's being serviced. I keep my fob unattached to anything, and resting in the bottom of my front jeans pocket. I figure if anyone pulls a gun me and demands the keys to my bike- I'll give him my key chain (which has the tubular HD ignition key on it) and beat feet to the nearest cover/concealment while he's trying to figure out why the bike doesn't start (and while I'm drawing a bead on his melon with my own gun).

Removed the metal rings from the fob and carry the fob in the watch pocket of my five pocket jeans.

The word fob is believed to have originated from watch fobs, which existed as early as 1888. The fob refers to an ornament attached to a pocket-watch chain. Key chains, car starters, garage door openers, and keyless entry devices on hotel room doors are also called fobs.
