You are going to get clobbered for starting another oil thread but I believe you are being sincere with your question so here's my answer. I've had good results with Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50. I live in the central valley & we have at least 45 consecutive days over 100 degrees F. I consider that a good test for oil.
Mobil 1 or Amsoil...I like Mobil 1 because it's available everywhere.

This type discussion will go on forever, but is OK. We all have our favorites, but I found a great site on Amsoil motor oil comparos, done from ASTM type tests....about ten of them. They compared about 15 MC oils, and it was very interesting to go thru the table of results for oils like the Syn plus, Honda's oils, Mobil 1 and Amsoil. Very instructive, imo. Easily found with a bit of button pushing. Almost as bad as my Ram truck with hemi. For the 1500 they spec a 5w-20, and for the same engine in the heavier 2500 they spec a 5w-30. I prefer reliability over mileage....and continue to fight this in my head.
