Myself I am wearing a HD/HJC IS-BT Max modular, it is 2.5 years old I need to replace the liner and cheek pads. Since that helmet has like 20k miles on it also HJC discontinued it so now parts are hard to get. I have been looking at four helmets.
If noise is the issue, a full face will be quieter, generally speaking.
Except that Schuberth, the maker of the quietest helmet on the market, the C3 Pro modular, claim otherwise.
They claim their modular helmet is quieter because the flip front allows for the neck roll to fit tighter around your neck than can be achieved with a full face.

I have a C3 Pro, and I've used several other top-tier full face and modular helmets. The C3 Pro is silent like a tomb. The Shoei Neotec is a distant second. My Arai Signet Q doesn't compare at all. The Nolans have some nice features but again don't compare in feel or quietness to the Shoeis or Schuberths.
You should still wear ear protection, but the Schuberth is a seriously quiet helmet.
