Took a few days and rode some of the Great Smoky Mountains.
About all I can say is Spectacular Spectacular! Here in North Texas or even in places like the Texas Hill Country (tres hermanas) you can find some nice places to ride but they are over pretty quickly and you are either riding them again or finishing your day to get out of the heat.
In and around The Dragon, it is endless - cool temps, unbelievable scenery and another curve then another and another then another road to investigate, then another and another - it's just endless and simply spectacular.
If you've never taken the time just do it. It is a trip to remember for anyone that loves to ride.

Our first time out there they were fixing a section of road on 441 on the Gatlinburg side, somehow we lucked out and were the first vehicle stopped in the line while they were moving heavy equipment around. Yeah it was a 20 minute wait, the reward was priceless, I rode 20+ miles at my pace before overtaking another vehicle.
....... isn't this the corner featured on that youtube video where the Road King rider misjudges his line & disappears down into the brush in the middle ?
Some of my most enjoyable rides have been in the Smokies ... Skyline Drive ... BRP ... and just about any road that you turn on. Great pictures "Blackjack"

I live about 2 hrs away. Hit that area a couple times a year. Have the next 2 weeks off. Planning on spending end of next week up there. Love where I live. Can be in the mountains in 2 hrs or the beach in 3!
