I always love these threads, they remind me how far so many of us have come!

My progression throughout the first couple of years. I'll be adding an Arlen Ness big brake rotor once it comes off backorder and new Lyndal pads. I also won a set of new mirrors playing pool against my wife and son last night so gotta choose those before they welch.

Upon purchase

After 2 weeks, exhaust/AC smoked the windshield

Re-doing the fork springs. Seat and rear shocks done by this point, probably some other stuff too like cams.

New handlebars

LED headlight, turn indicators frt/rear, and fairing

Saddlebags and turn signal relocation

Another new exhaust, as she pretty much sits right now.

2014 FXDB, picked her up about 3 weeks ago. Day 1:

Rode her like that for all of about 3.5 hours before throwing her on the lift and getting my hands dirty. As she sits today:

Next up is HD Quarter Fairing, fork cartridge drop-ins, Le Pera seat, dual-disc conversion. The fun never ends!

Never thought I would like a purple bike, but I guess I was wrong. Good job bro!

Still have a long way to go. Custom tank, rear fender, wide front tire on spokes, low bars, late model front end...etc.
Is it noticably faster and lighter?

Before;

2yrs After;

It's 610 pounds today. Supposedly 646 stock, but mine was well over that when I got it. I never weighed it, but I'd estimate at least 675.

Since I did the work over the winter and also changed to a chain at the same time, I don't have a good impression of how acceleration has changed.

I definitely gained a LOT of lean angle with the wider rear tire.

If you're going to do it, do it right... And you did. Takes a set to go hacking the struts off like that. Most noticeable to me, the lack of springs on that seat. Never was a fan of springs on springs... Not that you need my approval, but yeah, thats rad ride right there.
