I am wanting to stay 2007 or newer to get the bigger motor and tranny.. but due to my budget, may have to go older. Thanks for any insight
Just food for thought if you like to mod your bikes....

Get one with the O2 sensors ('06+ I think). That way you can get a tuner (like a powervision) and whenever you make an engine change, you can flash a new map then dial it in with a basic auto tune....

I have a '12 & an '03. I can do tune runs on my '12 and dial it in whenever I make a change. On my '03, I'm at the mercy of whoever I get the map from. So far dynojet, has given me a great tune for it.... but I'm thinking cam change and would want to dial it in myself...

FWIW...

And the value will typically drop another $1000 in August because it is near the end of riding season and introduction of 2017s.

Describe your engine mods only as a Screaming Eagle Performance Upgrade. That sounds more factory and professional, where as listing all the parts sounds like personal hot rodding. You can provide the whole list to interested callers.

Lots of pictures in the sun to show off the Custom paint.

This is good advice....I have a ton of stuff i've added to my Fatboy and thats the only reason I havent put it up for sale after buy the RK. I'll be taking alot of the stuff off and selling it separate from the bike as those things prolly mean nothing to the value or the person who's going to buy it. Plus I can list the bike at a better price having gotten some of my money back already.

Yes I stole it, but there are deals out there that will fit your budget.

To be honest, my 02 RKC with a stage one was faster than this one.

Thanks. I'm not a fan of yellow, but I saw this bike about 10 years parked at a local arts festival and I fell in love with it. I don't really care for the yellow SG or yellow Custom with yellow hard bags, so the contrast of black saddle bags must be part of the appeal for me. I always thought if I saw a good deal, I would grab it. The 96 engine is a bonus.

I want to add custom chrome wheels. I hope I can find a set that enhances the Custom style. The Custom has a unique look among the Road Kings and I don't want to take that away.
