Brake Pads
i didnt put the shim on FredericCM, have done about 1000kms with new pads and wouldn't have a clue if any difference, brakes work
i still have shim so i will take out and put it on
the EBC double HH pads seem to be a good improvement, definitely works better

I put the old shim on the new pad, it line up better with the two little tabs on the anti rattle spring on the inside of the caliper. I don't know why they don't supply it with every pad brand !
WARNING FOR ROBBY. I got the wrong screw in my Ness 02-972 Big Brake kit. The instructions said that there is (2) M10x35mm for the bracket, but i've only got M10x30mm and they are too short to be securely used !!

I believe since this is the size they are supposed to be.
I ordered some online today, they are a pita to find in 12.9 with the plated finish, none of my local hardware stores had them ! I also ordered 2 in 40mm, just to try...
You should also drop Arlen Ness an email, so they can be aware that there is a problem with several kit they sold...

I'd recommend you both phone Arlen Ness; their customer service is very good. When I purchased my Big Brake kit they sent the older style 02-972 caliper bracket but they did include the 2 M10 x 35mm socket head bolts for the caliper bracket.
Arlen Ness had the proper 02-972-1 caliper bracket for the 49mm forks to me in under a week; they included another set of socket head mounting bolts and I noticed that set had 3 M10 x 30mm caliper bolts instead of 1 M10 x 30mm and 2 M10 x 35mm. I figured it was just a mistake on their part and used the longer M10 x 35mm bolts from the original caliper bracket kit to mount the caliper bracket.
I contacted them at 1-925-479-6379.
I hope you two can get this sorted out...

Thanks TinCupChalice ! I removed my caliper bracket and this is the correct one 02-972-1.
Could you post a pic to see were did the pads run on the disc ? They seems to be a bit toward the outer edge...

I don't know if you can see it in this image but at the very outer edge of the rotor there's a 3mm shiny ring where the pads don't touch; on the stock rotor that outer ring was a bit larger, perhaps 5 - 6mm.
Since i didn't run the bike yet with the new setup, I can't tell precisly but It seems a bit more toward the outer edge... strange. Ordered kit #02-972 and got 02-972-1 bracket so everything should be good for my '14 Bob ? Or maybe I'm just loosing my mind lol !
