I've used CL Brakes pads (Carbone Lorraine, good stuff). They didn't seems to have a different shape than oem pads... Curious to see how this looks on Robby's bike

Agree with cvaria, I believe it's the pads themselves or how you mounted them in the caliper. The pads are correctly seated when the pad pin can be inserted smoothly with no sort of binding. If pad pin went in smoothly you had them properly seated and it's the manufacturing difference in the brake pads you're using compared to the images cvaria and I posted running the Lyndall pads...

the pads went smoothly into the pins and into the caliper, i even made sure that the pads are "as down as possible" into the caliper to prevent this. Well, next time i remove the pads a should compare them closely to the oems...

my inside looks like yours though (last picture). your little w springs (sit inside the pistons and hold in pads) may just be positioned differently. no biggie

Hi guys, sorry late to the party. Now you have me wondering lol! Here are some shots of mine. Seem to be even more outboard than Frederic's? I believe everything went fine when it comes to pin going easy, etc...

I'm back to you guys for the same "problem".
I had some time to work on the bike and I have found something about the "issue" :

The pads can move a little bit up and down into the caliper, until the pin make contact.
If the pads are pushed down (toward the center of the rotor, pin making contact with the top of the pad's hole), the pad is completly contacting the rotor.
If the pads are pushed up (toward the outer edge of the rotor, pin making contact with the bottom of the pad's hole), the pad isn't completly contacting the rotor, it is ending about 1mm further than the rotor...
I guess that why there is almost any untouched area on the outer edge of the rotor.
