I see some of you guys leave the FP installed all the time.

Maybe I'm to paranoid but what if someone connected to it through BT and altered your tune just to be mean?
Maybe I'm wrong but it seems anybody could hack it.

Drilled 1/2" hole in baffles in stock pipes and added K&N filter.

V&N suggested using the Twin Slash 3" Slip Ons, standard baffle map.

Seems to be running good and I can feel the seat of the pants difference in power over stock which I was not expecting.

I think I may run the auto tune on this map to see how it comes out.

What do you think?

I basically did the same thing except I removed the entire baffle, but left the catalytic converter in place. It sounds pretty decent and after a few auto tune sessions it runs quite well.

I read in another thread going over a 3/4" hole in baffle and it started sounding weird so was afraid to go any larger than 1/2".

Did you experience this?

I did not. I started out with a 1/2" hole and didn't like the sound so I just used a hole saw (1 1/8" I think), then smoothed out the edges with a long file. Since I didn't mess with the cat it might have helped to avoid the raspy sound others have experienced.

On my old seventy two I did the 3/4 and was okay with cats in. Ran a Cobra j2000 or something like that. Was never quite happy.
Nothing compares to a full system IMO

On tuning the fp3 over a canned map?, don't think it works that way?
I beleive its so you develop a new map with the AT and not for fine tuning can ed ones. Those are closed.

I unfortunately have to agree on the full system part. The modified stock one sounds alright, better than factory, but doesn't really belt it out like a full system can.

The short version is that the auto-tune works by modifying one of the stock canned maps then saving a copy of it with the auto-tune tweaks added to it.

Agree with the aftermarket pipes, nothing like that sound when you get on the throttle.

As far as canned maps if there is not one exactly for your bike then your suppose to pick the one that is closest.

Then you can run auto tune to fine tune it and save it as a new map.

This is what V&H told me:

Answer: When a map for your setup is not available, it is best to select a similar exhaust system and AutoTune that map to tune it in specifically for your setup.

Exactly what I did too. 1/2" had a puffy tone. Went to 3/4".

3/4" holes. Mic placed on axle adjuster screw.

Just went from a 1/2" hole to 3/4", it does sound a lot better.
Think I will stop while I'm happy. LOL
