What do want to bet 8 Ball catches on, gonna go just like the Evo and Twinkie did.
8 Ball isn't going to work. Same reason that Harley didn't name the 78 1/2 80 inch Shovel the GLH. Because another company beat them to the name. In the case of the 80 ci Shovel Honda took the GL name one year prior for their Goldwing and in the case of 8 Ball, Victory already has a bike for sale by that name.
I've got no issue, I'm just pointing out it's lame to try to make the new untunable 9 valve motor into something it's not. I notice no one has actually successfully refuted anything I've said, just resorted to name calling. Well you can say whatever you want about me but that don't change the fact that it's super lame to try to pin a nickname on the new untunable motor that it doesn't deserve. Go ahead and try though.
You have been refuted. Twinkie. It's been said multiple times in this very thread.

On one hand I recognize the sad state of an untuneable, factory built, paint by numbers, disposable bic razor motor era we might be ushering in with this new mill...one that makes all previous concessions to "progress" look like a $10 hooker by comparison....and it might be too soon for some to accept this new state of affairs with open arms (ok, most of us)....the advantages of naming the beast is we can a) insult it, b) shorten the name to make these insults quicker to type, c) take it as a first step in adjusting to a new marketplace. Sad part is 20 years from now future riders will be crying for the good old days of this Milwaukee 8....
I like Twisted's suggestion. 8 Ball would be an awesome name for a motor. Unfortunately I'm afraid this motor might not be the death defying thrill that name implies...but it's more likely the pool game, where you get stuck on the wrong side of the 8 ball...
Didn't read through the entire thread, so if someone else said it I apologize. I vote "Knot Head" for the new motor.
Dude, we're not allowed to suggest names for the new motor...its been identified as 'lame' so we all have to call it by it's trademarked, MoCo approved name. Sorry, we're not allowed to have fun in here....

Bubblehead
I haven't been refuted at all. "Evo" and "Twinkie" are just modifications of the names the factory assigned the motors. A totally different thing than trying to stick a -head nickname on the new motor like a knuckle/pan/shovelhead. Stolen Valor.

If Victory didn't already sell an "8 Ball" it might not be so bad.

"Stolen Valor"? Give me a freakin' break!
Comparing your panty-wadded indignation over nicknaming a motor to the real meaning of stolen valor is a slap in the face to anyone who has ever served.
