Figured out how to make the front wheel swap between my 883 and 1200C work - swap the brake calipers, too. Then it was the rear wheels. No way, the axles aren't even the same size.
Wasn't a wasted effort, found the 883 needs new wheel bearings, the 1200 needs a new rear pulley, and both need new rear brake pads. Both getting new brake fluid, too. Since it's apart now, will put RK shocks on the 1200. Now to get them running again, missing my sporty rides.
Installed a new battery today. AFAIK, the 2009 1200C still had the original battery in it. At least, that's what the original owner said when I bough it back in May.
So I replaced it with a Made In U.S.A. Yuasa GYZ16HL high capacity 16AH 240 CCA. The battery I took out was still working, but when I went to start it first thing in the day, it would sometimes pause or stumble when I hit the starter. And that was with having it on a charger all night/day.
It was time to check and clean all the battery connections anyway. They weren't too bad. A little of the usually green stuff around the edges... not much. Cleaned that off and applied a light coating of anti corrosive grease.
We'll see if this one lasts as long as the original.
Thanks. I'm wresting with the same things. My stock shocks are 11.5" now so I'm thinking 12 or 12.5". However, I am leaning toward the 12.5" since I am thinking of going with Progressive front fork springs as well and these, I am told, tend to raise the bike up a bit in front. So. . . balance it out.
I'm already second guessing ordering 12's instead of 12.5s, lol. They won't be here until next week. (Ground shipping from Cali to the east coast is like a camel train).

Hi GF. I did the Progressive front springs and 412's in rear too. I went with 13" in rear and I'm really happy with it. I'm 6' 3" so me reaching the ground isn't a concern. I like the extra travel and clearance.
I recently decided I wanted to ditch my fork bag for aesthetic reasons. Since I kept some tools, fuses, registration/insurance in there I was looking for a new place to store that stuff.
Fitted it last night, and for 25$ I think I dig it so far. See pics. I was able to fit registration/insurance (comes with adhesive pouch), a few bucks, spare fuses (not quite thick enough to fit spare relay unfortunately), and helmet lock inside. It "locks" but it's plastic, so it's certainly not secure other than someone might not notice it. Considering I kept that stuff in unlocked fork bag before, I'm not concerned.
Also replaced my speed sensor, but haven't been able to test yet due to tropical storm (thanks jesus ).

Sounds good, Are they noticably better than the stock for ride firmness?
Did you go with Standard or Heavy Duty springs?
