Not sure why most people think you have to "flat foot" both feet on the ground to ride a Harley.

Very few sport bike riders can even get both toes on the ground at the same time, let alone flat foot both.

Maybe the dealers need some of these in the showrooms

You think you've got short legs? I'm 5'11" with a 28" inseam. I test rode a Road King before I bought my Deluxe and did not feel as stable on the RK. Height is not as much of an issue as inseam. Seat width is also a factor.

The best example is the sports bike riders who almost never flat foot yet I'm yet to see one tipping the bike over because he/she couldn't flat foot.
Keep in mind a sports bike weighs a lot less than a big touring bike. It's a lot easier to keep it from tipping.

Damn, Im just short at 5'5". Unable to flatfoot in my skate shoes yet did not find it hard to keep control at parking lot speeds on a 16 RK I test rode. Threw that **** around in the turns and ride position felt like it was made for me. If it wasnt equipped with floorboards I might be a 100% bagger guy.

At 5'11" youve got no sympathy from me sir.

Something doesn't measure up.

5'11" is Farr above the US male median height. I doubt HDs could not be ridden by someone if your size unless your legs are significantly disproportionately short.

I'm 5' 11" and had no problem on my Road King. I did replace the stock seat with a Sundowner that was wider where your legs go down along side it and that made it a little harder to flat foot but I could still do it. You should have no problem.

My GF is 5'2" & 110 lbs - we lowered the front & back suspension 1" and she is flat footed on her 13' RK

It's not height so much as inseam. I am 5' 8" with a 30" inch inseam, and with my riding boots on I can easily flat foot the Limited. Only way your gonna know is to sit on some bikes. You can easily account for an inch or two with boots or seat mods, etc.....

There is such a thing on Harley's website. Click on a bike then click on the left where it says compare bikes. You can compare three bikes at a time.

At 5' 11", you are imaginig things. I am 5'9" with a 29" inseam pants and am fine.

That being said, my Heritage allows a blended knee.

Try out a Softail.

Also worth noting is the width of the seat on the touring bikes seems to be slightly wider, especially towards the front on the 2017's. I don't know if that is new for 2017 or that happened during the Rushmore rollout a couple years ago. The wider seat will cause you to be more bow legged which effectively shortens your legs.

Try a Heritage and compare it to a Road King. The M8 is going in the Softails in a year or two. If you want a new M8 powered bike now, the Street Glide is 1" lower.
