Watched the first episode but will dvr the rest. My broadcast was full of Hillary ads and was ruining the experience. I need to fast forward through that nonsense.
I can't get past the historically inaccurate ugly DOT spec helmets!
I would like to know who thought it would blend in to those who have lived with H-D historically before they were trendy.

Was piddling around on the computer last night when this aired on the tv. Just happened to have it tuned to the Discovery channel. It's about the founders of Harley Davidson around the turn of the 20th century.
A scene where Bill Harley was working and Caroline Jachthuber walks in. The dialog went something like this.
Caroline Jachthuber: "Did you get to ride this 'motor cycle'"?
Bill Harley: "Yes"
Caroline Jachthuber: "Did you like it?"
Bill Harley: <smile> "It was like an explosion between the legs"
Caroline Jachthuber: "Excuse me?!?"
Bill Harley: <smile> "It was fast"
LOL
Hmmm! I wonder if she experienced the same?....

Mechanics of today would look at a magneto or carburetor and scratch their heads...how they could even get an engine to run successfully with the tooling they had is amazing. (in some ways their Gasoline was probably better than the crap we have today though) Heck, we have precision everything and diagnostic tools they wouldn't dream of, and we still can't get our motors running sometimes.
A wild and changing time in history - at the turn of the century electricity was just getting going in cities, everyone had outhouses, and running water wasn't there yet. Radio in homes was still decades away, and what was being used was Morse.
What amazed me was when they got that 20 year old bike to start after it had been sitting for so long. That was the one that was still unmodified that they had to use because their updated models had been patented by Indian, and they had to start from scratch.....

It is OK to watch compared to what's on the other 300 channels which I can't find anything on. If I didn't own a Harley, I would be gone. You can make a show about **** on the seat of a bike and I'll end up watching it. It is good press for Harley and they'll sell a few more bikes. Also serves to poke a stick at Indian.
It's modern TV so there's bound to be some inaccuracies but overall I'm enjoying it , didn't realize how dirty Indian played trying to take Harley Davidson out of the picture.
Pure genius giving free support to the army in WW I , kinda launched the following that lasts today.

Man that picture brings back memories. Now I remember what they look like.
I have been watching also. I am wondering how "Historically accurate" it is and how much of it is "Hollywood' I also believe it will spark interest in the H-D Brand, maybe get some young riders into the bikes.

Nothing's changed with Indian they are still horrible business people. Watch Indian dealers reviewing their own bikes on YouTube. All they do is try to take cracks at Harley Davidson why their machine is better. I never once saw Harley insult any other company publicly. It's awesome to see how our bikes became what they are today.
I own three Harley's and a Indian (wife's ride). After watching part#2 and seeing the patent trick, I feel like I just contributed to the Clinton campaign.
