Trailer threads, oil threads and helmet threads seem to go forever.
Many times the original poster will start the discussion and disappear.
Kinda like farting by the party punch bowl and walking away to monitor the situation.
To me it's about doing more with less. Love to head out alone with a tarp, bag, stove and end up where I end up...no plans, just a direction, maybe a destination...it's embracing my idea of freedom in America. I go for a week a couple times a year. I meet and talk to fellow travelers and am respectful...never know what wounds a person is licking.
Most of the 108,000 miles on my '08 FLHT have been touring all over the west, and across the divide. That's why I bought the thing. To each their own, but to me, being a "biker" means you actually ride the thing. Hauling it around just isn't the same. I've paid my weather dues, just like many, many others. Been burnt in the desert, and frozen during winter rides. But I'm still gonna ride it. You can figure it out yourself how much I ride. I usually put in between sixty to seventy hours a week as a trucker, so when I ride, it's NOT just to the local pub. But, that IS what touring bikes are made for, right?

what if you live in the north and wanna go to daytona and there is ice and snow on the roads. just sayin
Ahhhhh, yep.............If and when I decide to visit Daytona during Bike Week,
and if I am still residing up here in the ice, snow, and cold climate...
I will put my bike inside a trailer and haul it well south of the hazardous road conditions.
Trailer Haters will always have their own ideas/opinions why trailering is 'not
what a "real biker" would do' ....
If someone trailers or not, doesn't change my perception of them what so ever.....I will base my opinions of them on their attitudes and actions.
