The best 2017 paint scheme I've seen is the green/black they have used on a promotional Street Glide and Road Glide. I think its a limited 100 set paint run on the Specials.

Every new model year someone posts the same negative comments about the colors. Can't we come up with a more original comment?

Or is it just "cool" to be a hater?

Don't you know it is fashionable these days to own a Harley and go online to bitch about everything about the company, the bikes, etc.

I thought this thread was actually pretty civil. People are going to have different opinions, and this is a discussion forum. Some People don't like blacked out bikes and I don't take it personally. As long as you like what you are riding, that's all that matters.

Is the last one a candy Black? Cause Black is Black and it just looks like a typical lacquer Black to me.

It is actually two toned, if you are referring to one of the CVO Street Glide color options.

They call it Dark Slate Candy / Arctic Black. Probably made just for people that want a more subdued look but more pizazz than a solid vivid black.

The trend for the last twenty years is to add black toner into all the colors of the rainbow. Thus red is red-black and blue is blue with black in it and yellow is yellow with black in it and pink is pink with black in it.

I am sick of it. It sucks all the vibrancy out of the frickin paint.

Or---you can buy a black bike with black pipes and black engine and black wheels.

As for the clownish amateur decal looking add-on flames all I can say is puke.

C'mon Harley. You have a proud tradition of striking paint schemes in the long distant past. I agree with whoever commented on how attractive the old Knuckelhead Art Deco bikes used to look.

It is tough to imagine paying all that extra money for a factory paint scheme that is corny. You can take the bike apart and shoot it all over but what a waste.

I got my Deuce in 2005 and it was a true blue (like early HiFi Blue) with some washed out silver blue two tones.

At the last bike-in all the guys were oohing and ahhing at the fact there was an actual color there. No black mixed in with the blue to dull it down. I found it amusing to say the least. But alas it IS a bit boring with the silver toner dulling it down.

The bike is being repainted and I will be using the old Deco bikes as a guide on how it is to look. No mottled colors for me.

I have imagined that the manufacturers of cars and bikes today must think that Americans equate having Black mixed into their paint colors as showing "dignity and class." Or something.

Look around. Very few vehicles without semi black dull paint jobs anymore. Or corny over the top schoolboy decals to add "pizazz."

If you want "class' you probably will need to paint it yourself!

This is totally my own opinion of course. If you like your stock paint Harley I am happy for you. Like they say---there is an *** for every seat.

Having such strong opinions I am showing what a jerk I am every time I open my mouth. Blame it on Tourettes Syndrome, haha.

Just for the record, I didn't start this post to bash H-D's lineup of new bikes. Quite the opposite. I love the new bikes and will have one before spring. I was hoping for a new CVO SG, but just don't like the new paint schemes that are offered - just my opinion. So I'll probably go for the RG Ultra with more subtle paint offerings.
