I have a 2016 street bob and I am thinking it might be better to pay extra for ethanol free fuel. Any thoughts?
Welcome to the forum. There are many threads/posts on this subject, but you can't use the search function yet. Many opinions, this is mine.
1. Pure gas premium top tier fuel
2. Pure gas regular
3. Ethanol premium top tier fuel
4. Ethanol premium
I have run regular pure gas for years with good results and no issues. If you are about to store your bike for the season, I suggest you top it off with pure gas and 4 oz's of Startron concentrate and run motor.

By all means use non- ethanol all year long and have less problems then the ones that don't use it and non't wast your money on a octane booster as there is no such thing
One of the biggest problems with ethanol-free gas, is that it's often hard to locate. The closest station that has it is 20 miles from my house. But I use it exclusively in my lawn mowers, chainsaws, etc. as the ethanol clogs the carburetors something fierce. Haven't had any problems with ethanol in any of my fuel-injected engines yet, including the Harley. But if it's available wherever I'm traveling- I always opt for the ethanol-free.
You can remove ethanol from gas by adding water ( at least 13oz water to 1gal gas ) shake well --let settle a few hours the water and ethanol will settle to bottom and pour off the real gas , Try it in a big glass container , you must add at least 10% water OR more to remove the 10% ethanol ( or 1/2 gal --- 5% ) At the pump is still more convenient and probably the same prise

You'll be fine with E-10, just like your owners manual says.
One potential problem with "pure gas" is that since sales volume tends to very low (compared to gas containing ethanol), you may be getting gasoline that's been in the gas station's storage tank for a long time, and is very old.
I stopped running it in my Dyna for the reason stated above. I gave it a shot all season, too. I didn't notice anything that would make me pay those prices anymore than running the other stuff.
