I am 5" 8" and also have to be careful about being able to flat-foot any given bike. Had a Honda CB650 back in the day and I hated it that I could not, could not, flat-foot the bike.
As others here said, a narrower seat will give you more length. And of course the right riding boots may help. One thing I've come to believe is that riding boots are a VERY integral part of the bike set-up and many of them will give you additional length.
I specifically picked my Fat Boy partly because it, like all Softails, gives me the ability to flat-foot. I could never own most BMW motorcycles for the reason that they sit the rider up so freaking high.
I need to get my feet flatter on the Ground , I am there but not comfortable and useless on loose impediments , my options I have heard are , 1 Reach seat ,i don't need to get closer to the bars , 2 lowering Kit , looking good , 3 lower the shocks , shitty ride , Stretch Rack , can't see it , Any other Options ? , thanks.
Option depends on your budget.
Your local pharmacy or larger grocery store will have arch supports.
Some arch supports will add 0.5 inch at the heal and are under $20.
A riding boot that has a thicker sole would also help and give at least 0.25 inch.
Neither of those will alter your seating position or shoulder height so they will not effect handlebar control.
Thinning the sides of your seat a little will also allow you to keep your feet closer together when putting feet down.
Since you can keep feet closer together then you get a more flat foot feel and are not altering handlebar shoulder geometry. A shop like mean city cycles could help with that situation or you can look for another seat alternative.
Shorter shocks or lowering blocks will make for a harsher ride in most cases.
Great feed back , My bar and foot control is fine , have no highway pegs yet but we can clean that up ( Norty Flatz ) , I have heard about this seat shaving , will look at that as well and most certain bigger boot soles , funny thing about the trade Jkiser , i did the opposite , i find the height the same but the SG is more top heavy and that the Bug , thanks again Gentlemen .
