Typically if its below 40 then that's my cutoff.

This. +1.. Fortunately I live in a climate where this rarely happens even when it's under 32 degrees, so I pretty much ride year round.

I prefer to stick above freezing to avoid any possible black ice, but a bike is my only method of transportation to work. Fortunately, weather below 32 during the day is VERY rare around here and I work evenings so things have warmed up by the time I need to leave for work.

Check this out for grins (guess they figure most folks cut off is 30f):

I am doing this today. Yes it is going to be cold but I really need some throttle therapy.

Once the mornings here in NC reach lows of 40 degrees I tend to not ride in to work. But then in the afternoon it is 70-80 degrees. So I ride after work.

When it gets too cold to Enjoy the ride, it's just too cold to ride. I don't wake up in the same mood every day, so there is not a defendant cut off temperature, for me.
