Is it confirmed that the special has different shocks too? I believe that was the case with the Rushmore bikes.

I saw the freewire from Sena advertised recently in a CycleGear mailer, that will fix the blue tooth idiocy of either model. As for the GPS the HD GPS isn't bad. Since I am a fan of ABS and the Security system if I were to ride a fairing model again a special is the only way to go unless you cannot have the color you want

I do not believe that is true any longer with M8 bikes.

I think ocezam is right - at a dealership yesterday there was a SG special right next to a stock one and they had the same shocks on them

As you showed, adding ABS and Security is $1,190 plus tax, or well over $1,200.

For 2016 and back, the Special had the same hand-adjustable premium rear shocks as the CVO models. For 2017, both the standard Touring models and the Specials come with the all new front and rear suspensions. Both models say exactly the same thing:

"...the responsive handling of the all-new ShowaŽ double bending valve front suspension and easily-adjustable emulsion rear shocks..."

Yeah, as stated before, there's nothing on the special that I would pay for.

ABS linked braking is a major safety upgrade for cars and bikes so I think after you ride one and try some emergency braking you'll agree. Going without this would be IMHO, very foolish.

If you feel comfortable doing the brakes and the security system you can save some money. But if you go standard, then plan on adding the ABS, security at least it may drop your insurance a bit.

Painted inner fairing, i think you can get it painted gloss for 300 to 400 dollars, if you want it at all, just a preference thing.

Now the nav, really isn't necessary because my IPHONE with google maps works great, but you'll have to buy a good support to attach it to your handle bars.

So if you want the paint, the abs, linked brakes, nav you'll pay a a few hundred dollars more, that you would most likely get back on a sale in the future.

I'd get the whole warranted special package.

Not to mentions the superior look of the 6.5

6.5 Touch Screen Nav, Boom system.
