Can the Pitbull Motorcycle Lifts be converted from a manual jack to an air jack?
We have recently made some minor design changes based on customer feedback and have now introduced on March 2016, The New Style Pitbull Motorcycle Lift. All lifts purchased after March 2016 can be converted either way. You can go from manual to air or from air to manual simply by calling us up and ordering the jack you need. Unfortunately there are too many differences between the original style manual units and the original style air units that were built prior to March 2016, and no conversion option is available. The pyramid that the jack sits on is welded at a different degree angle. Also, on the air lift, the plate that the air over hydraulic cylinder sits on is a thicker piece of steel and covers the whole pyramid so there would be no place to put the eye bolt that the manual lift needs to attach the foot pedal. The neck is also different along with the lifting rails. The cross bar on the " H" is welded higher than that of the manual lift to compensate for the air cylinder. We have been building the standard manual lifts now for more than 26 years. We added the air model about 12 years ago and to this point in time have never had any problems with either unit. By keeping in touch with our loyal customers and putting value in their opinions, as of March 2016 we now have an enhanced design that makes our lift convertible from manual to air or air to manual.
JimTJr - part of the reason I was reading the Pitbull website, is I just picked this off of Craigslist this evening.
Would love to turn it into an air assist (or swap with my buddy who has one and doesn't own a compressor)
And now I can do a side-by-side comparison with the J&S as I now own both.
I had a red and black craftsman for about 5 years. My wife said you got a 28000 dollar bike on a 100 dollar jack. She bought me a J&S. What a difference. I wouldn't trade it for any other jack. Please they are great to deal with. Wife was correct.
So I brag about my new to me Pitt Bull and everyone is screaming J&S,, ROTFLMAO.. Sorry it wasn't a J&S on Craigslist,, the only reason this guy was selling it is because he was getting rid of his Fat Boy too, several back surgeries and having to quit riding.
Some asked for clearance under bike. Here is the picture with jack at bottom and bike on jiffy stand. The closer spot is rear of frame.

The other day I looked at Craigslist and there were a few jacks for sale. J&S, J&S w/ oil drain pan, and 2 Pit Bull's
Obviously price is a driving factor, and I already own a J&S I'm beyond happy with.
I have 2 buddies who each own a Pit Bull and zero complaints on their end.
With all of that said, I still brought home a Pit Bull the other day. Enjoy it. Use it. And congrats on the find/pick up.
And don't pay attention here, unless I write a side-by-side review of the two. Haha
Yep, I don't worry about it, I just found it funny that it's I love my J&S all over the place. I plan on making a drain pan I think, or buying one if Pitt Bull has em..
Baseman, ya, thanks, I didn't know there was a difference between the new ones and older ones, I had my info from the Raleigh Bike nights here last month when I talked to a dealer in the area for them....
I'll be fine using my arm to jack it up. When I can't do that anymore, I probably shouldn't be riding,, LOL
