It was pointed out to me on another Forum that a member who migrated from a Can-Am Spyder to a Harley Tri Glide got kicked off the Forum for not sugar coating the reasons why he bought a Harley and sold the Can-Am. Are there people here that would have the same kind of feelings if I sold my Tri Glide in favor of a Can-Am?
I think that was a bit of a rhetorical question because I don't think that most of my fellow riders are overly concerned with competition. Hell, we have Indians, Victories, Can-Am's, etc. that are all competing for some of the discretionary pie that is motorcycling. I think what most of my brothers and sisters bring to this site is a profound love for motorcycles and in particular a brand that dates way back to the beginnings of our last century.
Since I straddle both fences and own both a Tri Glide and a Can-Am F3-S Spyder and a Road King, I suggested to the poster on the other Forum that a moderator could kiss my "emissions control unit", namely my butt if they were to act in such a petty manner. I hope I have not gored the TOS by bringing this up but I can't believe that we can't all enjoy the fun that our different machines bring to us? You don't have to worry about me waxing eloquently about the 5 computer systems that I need to keep my Spyder running. Hell, Harley has at least 1 computer.
Anyway, I hope that we are bigger folks than apparently/reportedly can be found on a competitive machine's website.
They are a VERY old and crusty crowd over there, if that's who you mean. I sold my last bagger and bought an 08 GS. Rode it for five seasons. Fun bike, don't regret it at all. Spent about 4or 5 years on that forum. It was all good except for that handful of old crusty pain in the asses , and mr self promoting forum owner.
Sold the Spyder , which I came out really good on, bought this bagger. I love being on a big two wheeler again. I think most folks love all bikes ,
just some more than others, one in particular. Haha.
I like the f3. If I ever buy another one , that would be it.
