Went for another 200+ mile ride today. 4 hours of glorious twisties and sweepers. Went from sea level (65F) to Cuyamaca & Julian @ 4200' ASL. About 55F, but warmer in the sunshine. I saw literally hundreds of motorcyclists out today.
Extremely odd thing~ I saw only 1 other Harley. I bet I saw 500 sportbikes and a couple dozen adventure bikes during the ride. Never seen this anomaly before. Usually, there's more HD than all else combined. Very unusual, indeed.
I realize the "Tijuana Toy Run" was today, and only about 25 miles away. I think they expected about 4-5000 bikes. Mostly HD. I guess that's where they were. I almost joined them as I haven't been since 9/11.
Found a softail slim front fender at a swap meet which is going on to my Switchback come spring. 10" of snow fell over most of yesterday so no riding right now...
Nice! We have been looking at these, too. That new 4 is interesting looking.
I need to just have a huge helmet fire. Damn things are impossible to sell[/QUOTE
I was close with the 4 but as little as it would be "opened" I just didn't see the need really. Look at both side by side and look at the profile. That's what sold me at the end. Put your old ones on Ebay someone will buy em.
Yeah, I will check them out. The wifey can't seem to part with her Shoei with blue butterflies on it.
Well got fed up to the back teeth of the HD QR Barndoor blowing my head off, so just got a half price Gladiator Shield from Fleabay, might take a month to get here, but when it does I will give a writeup, if weather permits, as we are in snow season.
