No worries. I caught it before they shipped so they cancelled my original part order.

So today I switched out the injectors. For those with the early '06 TC88 engines, they used a 6 degree injector that did not seem to work out as well as they expected so mid year they switched to a 25 degree and issued a warranty service for anyone that wanted to have the injector exchanged for the new one. The previous owner of my ride did not have this done so I found the replacement part that also has a higher flow rate. It resolves some cold start and drive-ability issues. The top injector (27625-06) is the original and the bottom is the replacement (27709-06A).

I got the breather drain holes drilled out and will be working on replacing the 4 degree advance key with the original, installing the Rockout inserts, and cleaning up the gasket surfaces. From there it's a waiting game to get the other head delivered so that the machinist can finish his work.

I cleaned up the gasket surfaces and polished the top of the rocker boxes and stopped there. It took a lot of elbow grease to clean up the gasket surfaces on the rocker housings. Used plastic razors and a little 0000 steel wool. I still have to find the time to swap the advance key and polish up the scratched up exhaust but it will be at least another week before I get the heads and cylinders back.

DJL, IDK if you're still reading this thread but my machinist says he has a dyna running 10.2:1 compression on the Andrews 37. Leaving in the +4 key would get me to 9.49:1 corrected and a ccc of 198.3. Thoughts?

Just in waiting. Thought I'd put up a couple of pictures of what happens when you have too much blowby and why the breather mod is sometimes necessary. Carbon deposits on pistons and oil deposits in throttle body:

Might be a push with the 37 cams; certainly the tune will have to be spot on.

Certainly. Right now I'm going to wait till I get the pistons and cylinders back on so I can get the chamber sizes and check the deck height to do the compression calculation. Going to try and hit 10:1 and not go over. I have the possibility of taking out the key and going with either a .030 or .036 gasket as well.

So the heads are measuring in at 88.2 cc each. It seems pretty high, but at least they match. Even with .030 gaskets and the 3cc domes the static comes in at 9.76 and the corrected at 9.05. Unless the deck height is something crazy the 4 degree advanced might stay in. Thoughts?

Yeah, it could stay in or you could exchange the pistons for a 6cc dome. I have seen TC88 cylinders measure 89-90ccs.......
