I ride daily on my current 2007 1200C. Many times on the highway. The biggest difference between the 883 and the 1200 is the passing power on the highway. The 1200 is also somewhat better 2-up.

The 1000 Ironhead has a lot of *****.

Everything you've heard about Sportsters is wrong. I have a buddy that has well over 200,000 miles on his 2005 Sportster. He participates in many of the Iron Butt rallies.

Only posers and dudes with tiny members rag on Sportsters. Real riders know and most respect them.
Everything you said is true with the exception of the last line. Some of us rag on Sportster riders just to see if they can take a good natured razzing. Many can't.

I think it depends on who's doing the razzing. In the past 20 years of riding I've had very few who ever kid with me about it. Of anyone that was "serious" it was someone on the internet who likely didn't really ride or was a poser.

I've always been a sucker for a redhead. Nice Ironhead. Any other pictures?

Hell no Sportsters are sweet. As mentioned, the only people that I've heard talk smack are non-riders.

You know... I don't hear many Sportster riders crying about heat...

Here's a photo of my daughter's little redhead. 1998 XLH 883 Hugger. It's a real "Girl's Bike". We were out on a Father - Daughter ride. That's my road Glide out front.

She does her own maintenance too. I tried to raise her right.
She had to replace the drive belt after it snapped.
