It depends on what I'm doing and how far I'm going. If it's around town or just an afternoon ride staying in the area I'll wear my half helmet. Lon rides I'll wear my FF icon.
I wear a full face and an open face depending if Im hitting the highway or not -
Dont want to steal this post - but does anyone have a Bell Rogue Helmet? What are your thoughts?
Im looking for something that is cooler (temp wise) - IM currently living in Brazil and its hotter than - and wearing a full face helmet is way tooooo hot in the summer when its humid (most everyday in the summer)
my only problem with the rogue, especially with goggles, (I wear prescription glasses), is seeing out of the very corners. I have to turn my head even further than with my HD modular to see before changing lanes.
As long as it's above ~60 degrees or so I wear a 3/4 on my Harley.
I wear a full face (Shoei RF-1200) when it's colder than that or if I am riding my Super Hawk.
I swapped out the face shield on the RF-1200 for a transitions photochromic one and I highly recommend doing that if it's available for your helmet of choice. So nice not to worry about swapping shields depending on what time of day you'll be riding.
In 20 years of riding I went from the little Q tip helmet, to a 3/4, to the full I wear now.
I should have been wearing the full all along. It just cuts through the wind better, not to mention gives a bit more coverage. Picking the right full can take some time, but it's worth it.
I like the Bell Bullitt. I put some cheap stickers from Pep Boys on mine and it doesn't look half bad either. haha.
