I can't really do a build thread because I ain't buildin nothin. But I will chronicle my, new to me, Fatboys trip back to health. It has almost 50K miles so I figured I would do ALL the 50K mile maintenance items in the service manual. First thing I got off evelbay was a service and parts manual. I am pretty sure she was loved at one time because it has a lot of "90s" mods done. This is my favorite, not. Anyway I pulled it down as far as needed. Nothing major just run of the mill poor maintenance mostly.
I don't think these neck bearings ever saw any grease, cavity was dry so no one used the zerk fitting.
Ordered a couple hundred bucks worth of parts today but I do still have some stuff to stay busy on, this bolt broke with less than 10 pounds of force.
I am pretty much done with the wiring for now.

Yes sir, looks like your building something there and you got your own thread so reckon you can call it a "build thread". Now that we got that out of the way.
I like that Speedo.... Nice......
Not much progress but I got a little bit done. Replaced neck bearings and races, didn't really like the way the new bottom seal fit so I used the old dust seal. Rebuilt front forks, new bushings and seals. They were assembled wrong the last time around the seal spacer was on top of the seals instead of being between the upper bushing and seal. Wheel bearings next then she'll be back on the ground. I was going to get rid of the stupid 90's sticker but it kinda grew on me. Mike
