Regardless of how I feel about the OP, there are many that spend a great deal of money on their Harley to maximize it's power potential.

There are those that try to get north of 100 hp on their Sportsters. At the wheel. They put enough money into them where they could easily have purchased a BT. New.

I can't argue their motivations.

Personally I lust after said Diavel. I can't justify owning one. Nor do I have the place for a 2nd bike. Heck, there are more and more 150 hp+++ bikes today than ever before. You can get close to 200 hp a lot cheaper than a stock Street Glide.

I wouldn't mind if I had 95 hp at the wheel of my 600 lb bike. Which is about 110 hp at the crank. I just won't dump the over $2500 to do it.

All that said, the OP did bring criticism upon himself.

I'm assuming your work will be on a FL bike, so I'm guessing your machine will weigh at least 800#.

Ducati Diavel : 470# with 160+hp, 130tq.

Yamaha Vmax 197hp at about 650#

The list of high powered motorcycles is quite long, and no where on the list is a 130hp HD.

If money is no object I guess there is some satisfaction to be gained by having a maxed out HD. If this pursuit is your "thing" then the best of luck to you on hitting your goal, but just don't be fooled into believing it will have any great impact on anyone but yourself. Good luck.
I have over a number of Vmaxs built up everyone. If you like power you never have enough. You get use to it. And I'm sure I will put a Procharger on it at some point when they come out. Power is just my thing. It's my drug.

It's like why upgraded stereo the factory one plays music. Why add Any accessory why changes rims. That's what makes each bike your own. I have a H2 on order that's over 200 from the factory

Most of all of our Harleys are money pits; I know mine is. That's what makes them wonderful toys; you can personalize them. I have a 2009 FLHT with a 110 S&S kit. NADA states its worth 10K. No way would I let it go for that, yes I will keep it until I could turn it over to one of my grandkids; the boys are (5 years old). In closing, DRBUICK, good luck on your venture, keep us posted on the results.

92500064 is Harley's stage IV kit for M8 CVO's that takes them from 114" to 117". It is EPA compliant.

This what Harley's kits claim while being EPA and warranty compliant

107 -> 114 Chart appears to show 122 HP @ 6000 RPM and 112 Ft lbs @ 5000 RPM
114 -> 117 Chart appears to show 125 HP @ 6000 RPM and 115 Ft lbs @ 5000 RPM

It seems to me those numbers are pretty close enough to your stated goal of 130 and have the additional benefit of warranty and EPA compliance. Even disregarding warranty and EPA, those same components with better exhausts and a more aggressive tune could probably produce even bigger numbers.

One thing you must not overlook with any kit is what engine it says you need to start with, CVO or standard, oil cooled or water cooled.

This is the 114 kit (stage 3) with a custom tune in blue.
Red is Harley's tune. No converter in the exhaust

It's not like this is the only M8 build thread. There's another one that's not getting any of this negativity. I get it......the OP posted 2 questionable threads here that at worst, has 2 sides to the story. How about we let that slide and let this guy post up this build because it's A- Interesting, and B - Not our money.

As far as the "why?" question - you gotta be kidding me? If there is one brand out there where money is thrown at HP, it's Harley. You like your bike stock - good for you. But there are a TON of upgrade threads on this forum. It would be pretty boring here if all anyone ever did was talk about their stock bike and where to put the gas cap.
