Looking to mount a 400w 4 channel amp in a Street Glide faring is anyone running this? What amp? thanks for the help
I think you "might" get one or 2 answers here.
Actually, you may want to be a bit more specific, year of scoot will help also. Most of the guys here are running 4 channel amps and many are running multiple units. Amps and speaks really go together, you will get a different audio sound from the same speakers with different amps.
If you are still open on the speaker side of it give these guys your budget and what you want out of the system. If you already have your speakers, let us know what you have so they can recommend an amp that works well with those speakers.
I installed a Fosgate PBR300X4 on a '16 SGS with a few minor mods to the amp bracket. placed it on top of the radio, brackets almost were perfect, drilled them out a bit and mounted it, I only had (2) speakers running and that thing got really hot, but never stopped working, even in 100 degree temps.

Wow nice setup! It's all tucked in nice. I have a 2010 streetglide I ordered a pair of Hertz max 165 6.5's and a Sony MEX-M100BT and will be installed in a FBI fairing behind a IPad. I also have Memphis 6x9's in my bags that I will prob be changing for something better

Boogie, I think u will have a hard time finding a more predictable sounding amp than the HDP4 the Flying Broke is running. Seems to sound very damn good with most speaker it is paired with. Not cheap, but a damn solid amp!!!!
Also not certain about the fitment on 2013- sleds thus hoping someone can chime in.
Also the ARC Moto 600.4 has damn good raw power, but not good if u ever plan on paralleling speaks.
Plenty of good solid budgets amps as well so if these are a bit out of your winter project budget there are more options.
Gann has tried damn near every amp going on a 2013- and can provide damn good choices that meet your objectives to include budget and fitment.

Take 400W off the table bro. If your talking 400 peak then the amp is most likely 200W RMS. The RMS number is the number you're interested in. That would only give you 50W per speaker on a 4 speaker set up. Not good.
That Hertz set up that "FLYINGBROKE" was so gracious to post is the direction you want to go. It will fit nicely on top of your Sony Mex and run your Hertz speakers with authority. Those speakers need at least 150 watts RMS to sound good. The Hertz HDP4 is perfect!

How did the MEX-M100BT work out for you? I have hear mention of an issue where the vibration makes the volume jump up and down. Have you noticed this?
