Thanx for bringing this up. Been driving me crazy too. I tried a flat fiber washer behind the snap washer and no good. Im gonna get the black gizmos from jp.
I have an 11 Fatboy and i had the same problem. Dealer tried new clips, happened again.Took it back to New Castle Harley who have excellent mechanics and they drilled out the mounts and installed chrome bolt and nyloc nuts, snugged them up and problem is solved!
Had this same problem on a sporty last year. Left one was ok, but the right one kept dropping down. Upon closer examination, the right one had the clip installed in the wrong location, and direction.
You can install the clip in the more forward or the more rearward position, and you can install the clip with bends forward or rearward.
Once I copied the left peg position and orientation, all was good.
I have the mini foot boards on my breakout. Angled them back but they still drop. I put the spring clips the same as they were, not know if they were right to start with. Whats the correct way?
Just reviving this thread because, I had same problem, then realised I had put the spring washer the wrong way round, correct way is in picture below to make sense, hope this helps all.
Does anyone have more details (specifications) for the "curved spring washers" I need to order?
I ride a 2017 touring bike.
I have the problem with the passenger pegs falling, I want to replace the clips and I am not looking forward to a visit to the hardware store trying to identify a replacement washer by sight.
