Removed and Unwired the Legacy 'bourbon apes' to make way for the Biltwell 'trackers', and installed 14" XR shocks. - Setting up the bones for the tracker build.
Well I got my 412 cruise progressive shocks at around 2 today, and install was super easy. And since it was almost 50 I decided to dust it off in the wind.
Took a long time to get the oil up to temp to try my new gauge. Read "hi" so I guess that better than lo right? Only took a little over 3 qts with filter change.
Engine seems to be vibrating more these days. Need to check mounts. Oh and trying to squeeze it out of my spot in the garage I marked the new rush exhaust against a metal shelf. Luckily it didn't break the paint just bruised the finish. Before my first ride with them. Looks like it buffed out enough.
Now to do the front Black 412 cruise shocks. Surpringly easy to install As it was in October

woah woah woah..... you may have over filled that thing and need to take oil out. 2-2.5 is normal. 3+ is exploding oil bag territory. sorry to damper your day. you can suck some of it out right from the bag. there are a few horror stories resulting from overfills.

Huh, well glad I mentioned it. Why does my sportster book say that with an oil filter change it should take 3.4qts of oil then?!
I know I had a similar problem last change, and ended up taking some out, but I figured I just didnt drain it well enough. This time i left it draining for like 3 days. (it was only like 40 though). Wish I knew, I woulda only ordered 3 qts not 4 of the Mobile 1 Vtwin oil.
the gear case worked perfectly with 32oz of 75/90.
well i just looked again. musta mis read- my owners manual clearly says 2.8 w filter, and the Clymer says 2002-2007 3.6, 2008-2010 2.8 so
now, where do i have a straw lol

don't trust that... i know it's the owners manual. start with 2 bottles (qts). start the engine for a few then turn it off and give it a few to settle. add more as needed. some say go to the halfway point on the dipstick and stop to prevent excessive blowby. your call there.
when you change the oil, a lot stays in the engine. that throws off the 2.8 a bit.
the primary actually drains most of the fluid because of the drain plug placement.
