It's a really depressed area... would not advise hanging around there for long periods. You'd look like a steak dinner to starving criminals.

Love riding the coasts, and the scenery and eye candy is much better 
I still think I'll buy in Ocala to start with; it's been too difficult trying to find THE house long distance and Ocala is centrally located with homes that sell quickly; I'll buy something decent that I can flip when the time comes and use it as a base and then start looking for the permanent home. I'd rather have an adequate home in Florida than a very nice home up here in the great white north any day...

I was curious which way you headed when you got out of Tallahassee on your speed run, wasn't sure if you'd gotten on 10, 27 or 90; lots of little places like Monticello up in the panhandle, but I'm more the Emerald Coast/Redneck Riviera sort Love riding the coasts, and the scenery and eye candy is much better

ocala is the business, you'll be up to you eyeballs in trim and bikers. Lots of nice tiding and hidden beaches too. 27 is super boring. I rode it from tlh to the merger to Tampa. I've never been so bored... and i ride i95

I've lived in several locations in Florida but never lived in Ocala so this is going to be fun, and they always have the Parrots, Pirates, and Paradise Jimmy Buffett bash every year, what's not to love?
