BEFORE and AFTER ... with a twist! Let's see those transformations with info!
Can't wait to see the pics!
"Hah exactly what happened to me with my 48! I'm now looking to update from stock by adding a FireBrand 52 exhaust, FP3 and a new air intake. I'll post some pics when it's done. Also would like to have eventually some whitewall tires, they look so great on a 48. I have the olive drab tank."
Glad I'm not the only one! I was beginning to think I need therapy! Probably still do!

Here it is today:

Drilled front discs with EBC Kevlar pads
Progressive fork springs
Honda GB500 fork gaiters
Older XLH full front fender
Chrome lower tree cover
H4 headlight
OEM tachometer kit
Chrome gauge covers
Chrome XLX handlebars
Chrome reduced reach levers
Black late-model mirrors
Factory-painted OEM 3.25 gallon king tank
Modified 883 Deluxe seat
Slightly bobbed and reshaped 883 rear fender
Chrome rear fender struts
Chrome license plate bracket
Progressive rear shocks
AGM battery
Barnett clutch
Lockhart oil cooler
OEM XLH chrome headers with Dyno-power slip ons
Early SE air cleaner assembly
Vintage "1000" air cleaner insert
2mm larger Keihin carb with Andrews accelerator pump
Smoothed intake manifold
Additional crankcase breather
23/49 sprocket combo
Most all the changes were made for a little better performance and more classic looks.

Before with 12" touring shocks.
After with FL front w/ 7" headlamp, 16 in wire wheels, Softail windshield
Softail slim front fender, larger tank and 1959 tank badges, glass signal lens
Led sled foot boards, Dead Creek solo bag, DK ignition relocation
S&S air cleaner, Mustang seat. That's all the wife wants at this point. I'd like a 1250 kit and stupid loud pipes, but it's her bike

Thanks. I like the red chop-green one as well. I recently helped my step son bob his virago 1100. Makes me want to do a skinny bobber myself. I'd lean toward a dyna wide glide myself but the sportsters look awesome.

Removed all the chrome I could, added a sundowner seat, Zed handbars, swingarm bag-
Black: grips, mirrors, forward contols, rush 3" exhaust, heat shields, directionals, strut covers, AC, DK customs 587 filter, and painted forks, tubes, and trees.
Today!

Thanks again man! I got the Amazon knock off daymaker installed in the Bates housing this weekend. Seems to fit great! Haven't had it out at night yet to compare it vs the LED bulb I had in the stock bucket. I expect the cut off line to be improved at the very least.
My girl has been bagged and tagged all winter and I think I'm getting close (unbridled optimism) to having her back together.
