Default Need help identifing this nut/rivet thing from forward controls area

Did my EnergyOne clutch pack this weekend. I removed one bolt and loosened the other on my left side forward controls to get access. After words, this was on the ground under the front controls. I didn't remove it, and I'm not sure where it could have removed itself from.

It's smooth on the other side like a button cap. Goldish in color. Threaded like a screw goes into it.

No idea where it came from. Anyone recognize it?

Thanks in advance!

That wouldn't be part of your lift, would it?

I considered it may not have come from the bike, but didn't think to look at the lift. I have a simple little jack, can't imagine where it'd go, but I'll double check! Thanks!

it looks like 1/2 of a "chicago screw". they're use on quality pants belts, take the screws out and you can change the buckle on the belt.

Have you checked your tool kit?
I've seen pliers, etc. with those sorts of fasteners.

Damn! I can't believe it, but you're totally right! Well close enough to spark a memory. I read your post and it clicked.

I used to have a fork bag mounted. I took it off and when I posted to classifieds (still for sale!) I noticed a "rivet" had gone missing. I guess the little bugger has been riding around wedged in my controls for a good long while.

It's a match!

Thank god you caught that before the bag sold. Now remove that "Missing one Chicago Screw" from your AD
