Both are good helmets with the C-3 being a bit better for me.

Proper fit is most important when choosing a helmet.........just sayin'.
I've owned both and SBRob pretty much nailed it. For a little while I was switching between the two pretty regularly and there were a couple of little oddities that caught me up each time I switched.

The controls are just different enough that one might "feel" better for you than the other one. The chin straps attach and release differently, the control to raise the chin piece up is different and the lever to raise and lower the internal sun shade is very different between them.

Also, I think the C-3 left just a tiny bit more of my throat exposed to the wind than the the Neotech did.

In any case I ended up just sticking with the Neotech because it fit me better than the C-3 did. Both were pretty comfortable but it was the third hour of wear during a long ride that would tell the difference.

I've tried on a FF helmet and a modular one and both make me feel closed in. I can't breathe in them either, so I stuck with my 3/4 and face shield.

Besides overpaying for the name...

Shoei sucks. Sent the helmet back twice at $25 shipping out of my pocket. They would not admit there was a problem. After 35 years of riding their response was I didn't know anything about helmets. Will never by Shoei again.

I had an RF1100. Was a great helmet....except when I turned my head it created the most annoying high pitched whistle. Didn't matter if the vents were open or closed.

I went with the Neotec. Super comfortable and a great helmet overall. I inspected the display model and talked them into giving me 20% off. Can't beat that!

I'm only a recent Shoei convert and I can say definitively that they do not suck. That tolerances and quality of their product is outstanding.

What was the problem??? Personally I've used most of the major brands over the years and my Neotec is my go-to helmet.
