The Neotec has been a great choice for me. It will be five years old this summer and when I replace it I will probably get another one. I hope you like yours. I went with anthracite.

I really liked the anthracite too. But all my riding gear is black and my bike is vivid black. Plus, the $130 off the display model was a no brainer.

The controls are just different enough that one might "feel" better for you than the other one. The chin straps attach and release differently, the control to raise the chin piece up is different and the lever to raise and lower the internal sun shade is very different between them.

Also, I think the C-3 left just a tiny bit more of my throat exposed to the wind than the the Neotech did.

In any case I ended up just sticking with the Neotech because it fit me better than the C-3 did. Both were pretty comfortable but it was the third hour of wear during a long ride that would tell the difference.

Looks like they've addressed that problem with the C4 model....

Maybe their customer service sucks or maybe you were wrong. Either way, their products don't suck.

Three sides to every story.

They didn't have any at the location I went to. Closest dealer was Charlotte.

How much do these things "break in"? I ask because I tried on both the Large and the XL and the Large felt too tight. Even though Shoei's sizing chart says I'm a Large. It just felt too tight on the forehead area. The XL feels perfect right now. Snug but no pressure points. But I can move it around on my head a little. I can get just the tip of my finger between my forehead and the pad, but I have to really try. There isn't much padding at all in the forehead area, but the cheek pads are very thick. I think they could have made them a little thinner and achieved a smaller shell by doing so. I just don't want this thing to get too loose once it "breaks in".

^^^ I just returned a Shoei GT Air after using it for the weekend (great helmet, just too heavy for my neck issues). They seem to run small IMO. I was a size larger in the Shoei that I am in an Arai (or most of my other helmets). You should also be able to get smaller cheek pads. In the GT Air and RF 1200 they had 3 different sizes.

I didn't say the helmets suck. I said their customer service sucks. They were very arrogant and refused to admit the problem even though it was common knowledge in the mc community.

Search for shoei quest wind noise and then tell me I am wrong.
