Default clunking feeling in clutch lever after new bars installed

had new bars installed last week. new lines and everything. got bike back from bike shop and noticed that when I shift, I feel a pressure bump up through the clutch handle. talked to mechanic at the bike shop yesterday after putting on 50 miles . he also took it for a ride and told me it may be the chain tensioner on the trans just working it in. mine was the first 17 that he has done. had him do the same job on my 15 with no issue, not grinding , everything feels good shifting, other than that issue . anyone else have this ? looking for info , seemed alittle better after the 50 miles. did noticed not as much pressure bump in 4th , 5th ,or 6th gear. any help would be appreciated.

I have felt this on my M8 SGS since day one, stock bars and levers though. Think I remember seeing other post about people saying they feel it as well.

I should be picking up my bike w/apes soon. I will compare notes with you.
They are working on it now. I only went with 10" LA Choppers so as to keep it just below the fairing. A little more conservative but I'm only 5'8". What type bars did you get?

OP, I just installed 14" Yaffe Monkey Bars on my scoot. I had to replace the clutch cable and the front brake cable due to the fact that OEM cables were too short with the new bars. I followed the instructions for bleeding the clutch line according to the service manual and my clutch is smooth as it was before I changed the cables. You may still have some air in the line. If you don't have a service manual PM me and I can send you the instructions. It is an easy process, you just need to be careful when adding Dot 4 fluid to the master cylinder because it can destroy your paint finish if you're not careful. If you had a service guy do it, I'd take it back and have them bleed it again if you're not satisfied. You paid for a service and it doesn't sound like you're happy with the finished product. Just my two cents worth.

The feedback at the clutch lever has been discussed a bunch.
If you do a search, you'll find a bunch of new owners talking about it. It appears normal. Mine has lessened over time though

For example:

And Trigezzer posted this.

I currently ride a 2003 Ultra Classic that is still in beautiful condition with 83,000 miles. I've personalized it to a point that the thought of buying something new is just not appealing to me. I put a Screaming Eagle 6 speed trans that shifts so sweetly with the easy pull clutch mod that I've had forever.

But my dealer let me take a 107 road glide with just 1000 miles on it for the day. I put a couple of hundred miles on it and among my impressions was the one where after completing a shift, most times there is a cluck that is heard and felt in the clutch lever. I suppose that understanding what it is makes it less concerning, but it's not a good feeling nevertheless.

^^^^^^THIS

I felt that feedback on two M8's that I test rode as well as the SGS that I bought. Don't even notice it anymore...

YMMV

While the clutch feedback to the lever don't bother me, heck the 6 speed bikes would bump the lever in 2nd-4th, they failed to mention the issues with the clutch that irritate me.. Clutch rattles when shifting in lower gears. The friction zone has narrowed..
