I wanted to change my bike from Candy Root Beer to vivid black (probably Sedona orange later down the road) and I wanted to go to a mag wheel. I bought a tin set of new take-offs in black from ebay and new take off 2017 RK wheels from my local dealer. The wheel style isn't my first choice but I needed new tires and at half price of new (never even been road tested) I couldn't say no. I prefer the road glide wheels if I were to go with OEM stuff.
Ill sell the wheels and tin set because I would prefer to not paint over the Root Beer paint because its perfect.
So this afternoon I spent about an hour and got it to this stage.
Swapping the tank internals was the least fun part of the job but it wasn't too bad to do. If nothing else someone will at least see whats going on inside their own bike if they want to tackle such a job.
Im on the fence now with the 2017 RK wheels. Im not trying to make my bike look like a newer model, I just want to change it so Im thinking Ill pop the tires off the new RK rims and put them on the wire wheels with new tubes.
