I believe one thing a lot of people forget or don't realize is comparing bars on a Dyna or Softtail to a touring. The same bars on a touring bike are going to be a totally different relationship between the bar height and the seat height. Also the relationship of length from seat to bars is different. For instance most newer Dynas have a longer wheelbase than a Tourer but the overall length of a Tourer is longer. Seat, bars and the relationship to them are all different. Keep this in mind when you look at bars.
I went with 12" F47 Signatures. I don't like the look of the 14" bars above the fairing. I'm perfectly fine with the 12s. I'd be fine with the 14s if I didn't have an issue with the appearance.
So true. I could not wait to change them out. I do miss the bar ends being behind the fairing so my hands keep warm in cold weather though....
All well. I am thinking of looking into a set of those cover things to get.
I also found the hands getting the wind and making them colder above the fairing also. So I searched for something and most would be held by the mirrors. I found these and they are easy to install and remove. They also help with the wind and cold. When it gets real cold heated gloves help. Here is a link to what I bought and I do like them.
I'm not sure how you got the impression you could install 12 inch bars without changing cables and lengthening wires.
Well I emailed KST about their 12 inch bars. Ret Tolleson emailed me from KST and he said that the 12 inch straight jacket bars doe not require longer cables or wiring extensions.

Sounds like he told you what you wanted to hear instead of the truth. I wouldn't buy from them again.

Road glide are different than street glides. I've got 12 inch tall boy hd bars internally wired with all factory cables and wires. If route the clutch cable on the inside of the bars and under the Speedo instead of in front of the Speedo you can go up to 14s but need to extend wires if internally wiring.

I was looking at those HD Tall boys. How do you like them?
