I just put ohlins on the rear of my 17 Ultra Limited. All I can say is WOW!! Huge difference. Now I need to get the fronts but I'm not comfortable installing them. Gonna see if I my dealer will install if I purchase. The rears were set up perfectly!
My Ohlins FKC102 cartridge is on its way from Howard for my 2017 FLHTP. Can I trust my dealer to do the install? Is there some way that the dealer could screw it up? My mechanical ability doesn't go much beyond changing oil. Thanks.

Yours are not the same valving as every one else's who do not buy from me so your results will not be the same as others. An administrator from another forum is stopping on by on Tuesday if all goes well. He can work on his own bike but is just unfamiliar with suspension. He stopped of earlier this week and coached him hon how to revalve his FKC-102's. He was very uncomfortable in doing it but after a good lunch (very important if you ride a HD) and when we got back, we tackled it. Once finished he was very proud that he did it. The point of this story is he will do it in a few days and do a write-up along with his impressions. I know him for a few years and like hanging out with him. He told me the pricing of the labor only in several bike shops including 2x local HD's. I figure he will know it is done right because he did it and his work is checked so he will be proud he did it. Half the fun is hanging with your pals getting their hands dirty, and working on your bike in place of shopping in the HD' haberdashery department and sitting on the couch.
I know there are two different HD owners, those who work on their own bike and those who would never so so. I am hoping once this fad is over that the original biker types will still be around and the small INDY shops are open.
Since David (the guy) will do all his own work, his efforts will help differ the cost of the cartridges and if deducted the cost of HD of Miami labor charge, he will be in it for around $200~$300 and a few laughs.
To answer your question, if you have friends, a camera, and a phone, I will guarantee your job will come out with the added benefit of spending some quality time away from work. Just call me if you are having a unanswered question, that is why I do this stuff. If you do not have those assets, either roll the dice or get on your bike and ride on down (without the wife help).

I’ve done a bit more to my bikes then fluid changes, but I don’t have the room or confidence in my ability to work on forks - so when I received my FKC-102 carts from Howard (the entry level bagger carts) I had my dealer install them. I spoke to the service director well in advance about it, and he had a guy that had done many Ohlins cartridge installs on HD’s and other brand bikes. So I felt good about it. And he did a good job. The carts are an enormous upgrade from the HD oem internals on my 16 RGS. I also had the NIX22 carts installed on my Dyna by the same guy. Both sets, combined with the excellent Ohlins rears I have make my bikes ride better then any other bikes I’ve had. Except maybe for my BMW R1200R - I had Ohlins on that as well...
