I thought the **** was supposed to face the rear? That doesn't dig in the way they have it?

That section was assembled.

The instructions say " The tilt angle (front/back) is controlled with the 5/16"-24x5/8" knurled thumbscrew at the front of the post." "Turn clockwise to tilt forward, counter-clockwise to tilt back.
So it should be correct. I don't see how it could be flip flopped the other way and be functional?

I agree it would be easier to adjust on the fly. However it doesn't really come it contact with the pad when in use. I just touches when it is tilted totally downward.

im on my phone, so I can't really see the pictures, but does the pad flip over and work?

I'll have to look at mine tomorrow, pretty sure **** is on the back, maybe they changed them

The backrests for our kits are designed a bit differently than for the seats, because the way the base mounts to the fender and frame creates an angle issue. So for the backrests that go into seats, the **** is on the back, but for the kits it's on the front. This is also why the kit pad and posts will not fit in seats, and vice versa.
