I never cut them but we used to drill a hole in the them near the end, top down. That way if it fell over or was hit - it would break there and leave some lever to use.
Back when I was young and dumb and had no kids and smoked...I used to like to take the safety off of BIC lighters and adjust the gas valves way up until ~just~ before the flame would blow itself out. Some lighters would go over 6".
One time my future-ex-wife used one she didn't know I'd tamped with and left in her car...and caught her hair on fire. This was the early 90s high bangs FULL of petroleum products...
I can't seem to find a decent pair of short levers for the brake and the clutch. has anybody got theirs and can give me some tips on how to go about it? seems like if I got the black ones it's going to have some paint problems and I'm going to have to repaint.
Much appreciated

Cut mine on my 2010 WG best thing I ever did, on my new ride I have decided not to at this point. Short levers work great, I just cut them and cleaned the ends up. as for stabbing your hand I have no idea how you would even do that?

It originated in road racing. lf you crash and the bike hits you, you're in trouble anyway but it's one less thing that can potentially hurt you.
