Haven't posted in awhile - updates for the King!
Winter Mods:
New Vee Rubber up front (120/70/21)
16" Carlini Gangstas
SE Style saddlebag lowers (painted to match w/stripe)
V&H Fishtails w/V&H X-pipe header
New Shark speakers too, mounted on engine guards - Better bass but harder to hear in this location with exhaust updates.
1960's pan head emblem on tank
Ready for this season!

My new to me 2003 Road King....

Bike needs a little TLC, far from perfect and that's ok with me.

The engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago by an Indy shop owner at 59K miles...it has a welded crank, S&S gear driven 510 cams, new cylinders, pistons, rings and a complete valve job. Put new MC2 tires on it last week, new front rotors and pads as well as a few other parts and new fluids.

The paint's not great but it doesn't bother me...it adds character to the bike.

I want to get it mechanically sound and hope to keep it for a looooong time.

How are you liking the S&S 510 gear cams? I measured my crank runout when changing the cam chain tensioners, and I've been trying to talk myself (and my wife) into the 510 gear cams for a winter project.

I'm very happy with it...the engine runs strong. I've only had the bike for about a week but so far, I think it may be a keeper.

This is my 2003 100th Anniversary Road King Classic. Had it since new. Only have 41,000 miles on it. Only take her for longer trips and never short ride to Walmart. She's been to Sturgis each year since new. I trailer her up from Florida and ride out each year from eastern Minnesota. the only thing other than maintenance that I've had done to her is cam chain tensioners at 28,000 miles. they weren't that bad either, but 28,000 mile on stock tensioners is pushing your lock especially when you are on a trip. i also have a Corbin seat and a few chrome goodies. Other than that she is stock. I tried balck walls on her once since that seemed like what everyone was doing, but she's a Road King CLASSIC and that means she wears whitewall tires! she has been a great bike and my 4th Harley. Also my last bike. The years are flying by.

So far so good..... This pic was taken before I polished the forks. I doesn't look like it needed it in this pic, but it did.
