Today we finished up my girl. And I got to ride her for the first time since I purchased in December. Took them emblems off, switched back to the mid controls. Bolted up the crash bar. Swapped the stock shocks out for the DX set i picked up off another member. Removed the strut covers and the rear signals. Still to come is the Thunderheader, PCV, and mags.
I ordered the same length you did. Some differences I didn't take into consideration and maybe you missed in the pic, I am running a softail shift lever which curves forward forcing more distance between the lever and the trans lever, it also is shorter, I have about an 1/8" clearance between the rod and the primary, but no clashing issues. Maybe later I'll order a new rod and 1" or 1.5" longer to close it up some. I want to see how it looks when I get around to modify the shift lever to allow the use of the longer Dyna version.
As soon as I am able to get out and ride I will let you know how it feels to shift. Shifting my hand is pretty smooth, I don't foresee any issues.
Hardware to install, 5/16-24 x 1.25" allen head bolts. The bolt is threaded thru the trans lever with a washer, rod is slide over the bolt, added another washer and then secured with an acorn nut. The front is pretty much the same with an added 1/8" spacer between the rod and shift lever.
Wouldn't a shorter shift arm = a longer shifter throw?
