I still would love a sturgis model. Evo though not a shovel
One of my really good friends has the 1991. He loves it, won't ever sell it and he is seventy this year. He keeps buying newer ultras but still has the Sturgis.

When I was a teenager a guy down the street had a 1980 wideglide black with fireball flames, I can remember seeing it for the first time I was with a friend he said it's a.m.f it's junk and I said that is the coolest bike ever I am now 50 and I am sticking to my guns, I can still here it idling , I do remember him working on it a lot lol!
Right after I divorced my first wife, ( about 24 yrs old ) I went to the Memphis HD to buy a Harley, & they had one sitting on the show room floor , complete with oil dry pans, underneath each bike .
Salesman tried real hard to put me on it, but nonexistent funds, at the time, kept it from happening . Think $6000-$6500 was the sticker price on it.
Lot of money , back in the day.
Always a Soft spot for a WideGlide.
Ride Safe,

I think one would be a idiot to have that bike in the picture and start taking stuff off nothin wrong with that air cleaner. And if you start talking bad about A M F I'm going to go off.
Why would you go off Jim? HD had to be saved from AMF. The bikes weren't bad but they where put together poorly. Nothing a good wrench couldn't fix.
One more thing about older bikes is you are buying the technology of the time. That's why the 97-98 were the best Evos. JMO.
From what I have heard Willie g said look at all theses flh ''a running around with the fat back tire , tear drop tank, raked wide forks, 21 front tire , I can do that! As far as a. M. F , I think wiilli's visions were there but he could not control quality control, I agree a.m.f are cool! I have seen a couple of those bikes on line, who is the hunting Harley guy online ? He has 2 or 3 of them,I have 2 bikes now that's enough , well that's what the wife says, I have never seen a Harley I did not like, they are all cool!
