My bar-ends from Motogadget are about $120 each and I think they are worth it. Somebody else might think that's insane money.
That said, a handy person could build a reasonable copy of the KG3s for maybe $50/pair. Some bent & drilled sheet metal, hardware, and a few properly selected & mounted LEDs. There's nothing especially clever about the design except the machined housing, which is all aesthetics.

that's what I was thinking, I just got to figure out the LED side of it, I never made any of my own lights so not sure if there is specific wiring for led and types of led that flash etc.. but I know I could fabricate a housing pretty easily
The vast majority of LEDs are two-wire and polarized. Don't reverse the pos and neg leads or they pop. Also pay attention to forward voltage requirements. 12v LEDs are common now but there are lots of 3-5v examples out there. They can be used but must either be wired in series or have resistors installed.
LED bolts are handy but can present packaging challenges for tight projects. For loose surface mount diodes, thermal epoxy and a good soldering iron are your friends.

FWIW I ordered the Thunderbike ones last Monday and had them by Thursday, from Germany. I was blown away by the quality and how small they are. I paid around $190 shipped. I would highly recommend their products.
