All you guys that picked a Deluxe, have you ever ridden one? I owned one for one summer. I, too, think they're beautiful motorcycles. That's why I bought one. However, I should have given it a longer test ride because I ended up hating it, and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Let me tell you that if you're over 5'9", you'll be miserable after 5 miles. Cramped legs, bars in your stomach, and you feel like you're sitting on the tank! By far, the MOST uncomfortable motorcycle I've ever owned.
Mine:
Beautiful, but I hated riding it.
If I can ever get my wife interested, I'm getting one for her.. I'll use it for short (no pun intended) rides.
To each their own. I love the looks of Road Glides. And it's not that I do not like the Street Glide, but form follows function for me. I can ride 80 MPH on the interstate and not be buffeted all over the place by semis. And for me, the Road Glide has worn on me.
The best looking stock Harley-Davidson ever? It's very easy for me. 1936 Knucklehead. It has, by far, the best lines of any motorcycle ever built. The simplicity and the style is timeless. If only I could afford one, I wouldn't have to post someone else's picture.
The best looking modern stock Harley-Davidson is definitely the Forty-Eight, as it looks fast, sitting still. And Harley did a wonderful job of making it old skool!
