I have a 2014 Limited, but wanted a bike for around town, and back and forth to work. I used to have a 1997 Fat Boy, and just loved that bike. I'm going to purchase a 2006 Fat Boy FI this Friday from the original owner. It has 300 miles on it, yes, three hundred. I'm going to replace the tires, change the fluids, before I put it on the road. I was told that it is a "Custom Color" that was only ran by HD four months. Does anyone know about this option? Is that true?
I say no. It isn't a special run. Looks like two tone fire red pearl and vivid black. I have a friend who has a special run bike. Two tone turquoise pearl metal flake and sand metal flake. You Google a Fatboy with that color combo and look at the images. On the tank you will see that there is a gold leaf Harley Davidson badging decal. I am told that this is what the special paint run Fatboy's have for badging.
I have a 2006 Custom Color Fat Boy just like this I bought it brand new from the dealer. When I bought it they told me it was the second custom color option for that year. I hope you bought the bike I love mine! How much did you buy your bike for if you don't mind me asking! Im going to be selling mine, since I don't really ride it anymore.
Thanks Bat, yes, I did buy it. I replaced both Tires, Battery, ALL the fluids, Engine, Trans, Primary, Brake Fluid, and Fork oil. I paid $6,500 for it, and put around another 1k in it. It's a great scooter, I love it, it rides like a new bike. It currently has 680 miles on it now.
