I stripped a set from a VRod VRSCDX (the all black V with black powder coated wheels). Used an aircraft aluminum paint stripper from AutoZone
easy to do - no prob there. BUT....once you get them polished by hand or whatever the the real pita begins! Raw aluminum just does not stay shined without a lot of hand polishing...
I've heard that once you get them "stripped" you can have them "clear
powder coated" I don't know if that works - traded the VRod in never saw it again.
Not a fan of the laser etched wheels either. One day I will get mine powder coated. That one looks good with just the centers done black. Then I would clear coat the rest of the raw aluminum.
